Senior Field Service Engineer - UK & Ireland

Job Description

As we look to develop and deploy new service assist technologies over the next three years, we are looking for an experienced field services engineer to join our existing field services team. We need a candidate with solid knowledge of gas phase chromatography; full instruction on the product range will be provided.

The Person

  • knowledge of gas phase chromatography techniques GC and GCMS is essential;
  • knowledge of HPLC and xrf is desirable;
  • experience with it, networking, computer programming, website administration, or other complementary skills is desirable;
  • you must be able, able, and able to travel throughout the UK and Ireland at short notice, with occasional travel to mainland Europe. At times, overnight stays can be up to four nights at certain customer sites.
  • experience of effective verbal communication skills in a customer facing or customer service environment is essential.
  • must have a full clean UK driving license and be able to work in the UK and travel to and work in the EU

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Execute onsite servicing, installation, and breakdown repairs of custom gas chromatography and mass spectrometry systems, lab gas generators, XRF and assorted optical instruments.
  • Offer remote technical support to clients through email, phone calls and other possible ways.
  • Travel to client locations for regular planned maintenance, installation, and breakdown repairs.
  • Assist the team in implementing technology-focused changes to the business using secondary skills - This includes opportunities for web development, database management, and project completion during home office time once the initial training is finished.
  • Through senior service engineers, mentoring and comprehensive training both in-house and on-site will be provided, along with additional factory training given by our suppliers in Europe and the USA.
  • Identify potential new clients.
