THE ROLE
The Business Development Manager is responsible for promoting the Company’s cold
storage solutions across the UK. These include cryogenics, laboratory refrigeration, cold
rooms, and associated products such as temperature monitoring systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Sales Director:
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the product portfolio and knowledge of main
competitors;
Identify new sales leads by researching organisations’ focus areas;
Pitch products and services to the intended market;
Maintain relationships with key accounts for the sale of additional products &/or services;
Acquire new customers / diversify clientele to access previously unexplored market
areas. This may involve exploring new avenues for business-to-business sales to access
niche markets (e.g. IVF, Defense, animal husbandry);
Investigate and identify opportunities to promote the cold storage product range in the
UK market;
Attend manufacturer training as and when required by the company;
Produce Sales quotations including delivery charges and discounts where appropriate
and send to customers within the agreed time frames, then follow-up and monitor
progress;
Keep accurate and up-to-date customer records including site profiles, customer notes
and area overviews
Compile accurate and legible tender returns / Requests for Quotations (RFQ’s)
Produce monthly Sales forecast and prospect lists;
Monitor individual and group Sales progress Vs target via SAP.

THE CANDIDATE
Previous technical sales experience is essential;
Experience of cryogenics, laboratory refrigeration, cold rooms, and associated products
such as temperature monitoring systems;
Cold calling via phone / site visits / or email - a “never give up” attitude is essential in the
discovery of new business;
Effective time management
Strong Sales Skills and experience managing pipelines;
Closing skills are essential;
Strong communication skills – written and oral;
Current UK driving licence;
Within easy access of the main UK motorway
