Job Description

The Company have an amazing opportunity for a Technical Business Development Specialist to work alongside with RAM’s to grow our chromatography consumables and services portfolio. The Technical BD Specialist helps with customer network growth, identification and conversion of opportunities, establishing potential businesses and new departments within current customers. This position will focus on supporting their account manager teams with technical sales duties to accomplish defined business goals. This is a Field position with Extensive travel (40%-60% of working time).

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide a technical sales resource within the UK and Ireland
  • Undertake direct technical sales duties on an ad. hoc basis and according to an agreed sales support program for key accounts in the UK and Ireland
  • Develop and maintain networks with customers to show that the business is unique
  • Support sales planning and customer analysis to accomplish sales increase across the product portfolio
  • Create key conversion and upselling opportunities for the chemistry product range across potential and current customers
  • Develop technical sales & marketing materials to support New Product Introduction (NPI) with dedicated ramp to volume target
  • Develop technical sales & marketing materials to support sales of chemistries products
  • Provide technical training to the sales team to ensure they able to discuss the technical aspects of products at the suitable level
  • Liaise with product suppliers to ensure that the business has suitable technical sales literature to support product sales and marketing
  • Attend exhibitions and conferences as needed
  • Deliver customer technical product training (seminars) and consultancy services as well as onsite and offsite demo’s as applicable
  • This position supports the Group Technical Services team and will need support duties to be supply to all businesses within the Company’s division on an as needs basis

    Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a lab (Chromatography experience required)
  • Life Science Degree or related
  • Applications development experience would be a significant advantage
  • Sales Experience is not necessary however you should be able to show commercial drive with sales orientation
  • Fundamental knowledge of analytical chemistry
