Senior Service Engineer - Midlands

Job Description

Overview:

The Company has a field based (Midlands) opportunity for Senior Service Engineer whose main accountability is servicing & maintenance of analytical instruments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting, installation and repair of designated equipment
  • Completing Preventative Maintenance and field modifications
  • Ordering and managing repair parts for field repairs
  • Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up
  • Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring they are properly calibrated
  • Utilising the escalation process to resolve customer service delivery issues
  • Identifying and participating in sales opportunities such as new contacts, new contracts, contract renewals and instrument sales
  • Collaborate with other departments within the Company to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within the UK and Ireland
  • Ensure all communications with customers are reported internally

Qualifications:

  • Great experience of working with GC-MS, LC-MS in an analytical laboratory
  • 3+ years’ experience of analytical method development
  • Experience of working with SIFT-MS (desirable)
  • Experience of working with GERSTEL (desirable)
  • Excellent analytical, networking and communication skills with the ability to communicate highly technical issues in an easy-to-understand form
  • Excellent time management ability
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Excellent decision-making, troubleshooting, problem resolution and creative thinking skills
  • Bachelors / BA in Chemistry, Engineering or similar subject
  • High level of computer skills including: OEM Software, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
