Overview:
The Company has a field based (Midlands) opportunity for Senior Service Engineer whose main accountability is servicing & maintenance of analytical instruments.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting, installation and repair of designated equipment
- Completing Preventative Maintenance and field modifications
- Ordering and managing repair parts for field repairs
- Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner.
- Maintaining daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up
- Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring they are properly calibrated
- Utilising the escalation process to resolve customer service delivery issues
- Identifying and participating in sales opportunities such as new contacts, new contracts, contract renewals and instrument sales
- Collaborate with other departments within the Company to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within the UK and Ireland
- Ensure all communications with customers are reported internally
Qualifications:
- Great experience of working with GC-MS, LC-MS in an analytical laboratory
- 3+ years’ experience of analytical method development
- Experience of working with SIFT-MS (desirable)
- Experience of working with GERSTEL (desirable)
- Excellent analytical, networking and communication skills with the ability to communicate highly technical issues in an easy-to-understand form
- Excellent time management ability
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances
- Excellent decision-making, troubleshooting, problem resolution and creative thinking skills
- Bachelors / BA in Chemistry, Engineering or similar subject
- High level of computer skills including: OEM Software, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
