Senior Field Service Engineer - UK & Ireland

Job Description

Location: UK & Ireland (Hybrid/On the road) with a focus on London, Oxford, Cambridge. Offices are located in West Berkshire.

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team, responsible for the repair, service, installation, and maintenance of liquid handling and sample preparation solutions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform onsite service, installation, and breakdown repair of liquid handling and media preparation products, including manual, robotic and automated systems.
  • Provide remote technical support for customers via email, phone, and other methods.
  • Travel to customer sites for routine planned maintenance, installations, and breakdown repairs.
  • Utilise technical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing training, guidance, and support to help them meet performance targets and develop technical skills
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers to drive business continuity.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Promote the company's brand and range of pipetting products.

Your background:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer-facing field service engineering capacity, preferably with experience in high-value electronics or electro-mechanical capital equipment. Supervision experience advantageous. 
  • Qualification in engineering, electronics, or a science-based subject, to a minimum of HND/HNC level.
  • Experience and expertise in robotics, automation, and liquid handling technologies preferred.
  • Degree in a life science/chemistry/engineering subject or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays.
  • Must hold a Full Clean UK driving license & be eligible to work in the UK and travel to the EU and USA.

Remuneration and Benefits:

  • Base Salary: £40K-£45K DOE
  • £500 per month car allowance
