The Role
The Sales Executive South will work as part of a team to create and deliver high quality timely services to a varied customer base in pharmaceutical, biological, academic, food and microelectronic industries. The Sales Executive will work in alongside cooperation with the Contracts Executive, Parts Department, Service Department, Accounts and Head of Sales.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accomplish sales goals set jointly and agreed with the senior management team, with KPI’s to include sales order value, opportunities created, number of possible and current site visits, quotations created and duties in targeted market areas.
- Make motivated telephone calls and e-mails to current and potential customers creating sales opportunities, quotations and sales.
- Receive incoming sales enquiries by phone or e-mail, answering in a timely manner through telephone calls and e-mails with quotations and site visits as suitable, as well as distributing to the applicable colleagues.
- Manage a sales area mainly but not restricted to “The South of the UK”, exact territory to be agreed and subject to change according to market forces.
- Account management after quotations have been issued to clients to “Close the Sale” and to keep the customer.
- Assist with the recovery of lapsed accounts by identifying and providing additional lost contract information with follow up by telephone and e-mail.
- Support with tender submissions and the formal handover of successful tender bids.
- Assist with and cooperate with larger and more diverse projects where more than one customer site is involved.
- Provide monthly accurate sales reports, forecasts and additional data in a timely manner.
- Develop a sales plan based on KPI provided by the Sales Manager
- Generate a growing and accurate sales pipeline through proactive as well as reactive sales processes
- Participate where required in national and local exhibitions, conferences and seminars with the aim to generate additional revenue.
- Marketing, assist Head of sales with LinkedIn connections.
- Maintaining records on a centralized PC based system.
- Process purchase orders for service work by passing on to the appropriate colleague.
- To pass on internally supplier forms and quality questionnaires for completion and return to the customer.
- Support with updating of the computer contact management system
- Attend office or other meetings as and when required.
- Maintain regular contact with Service Engineer colleagues.
- Cooperate in additional duties where required to develop and grow sales revenue.
- Support team members during times of absence i.e., annual leave or sickness

- Demonstrate a clear understanding of and a track record in a sales management role, with a strong telephone manner.
- To see targets as challenges to be taken on and beaten.
- Be methodical in approach and excellent record keeper.
- Have a strong “can do” sales ethos.
- Be able to respond quickly to changes in instruction brought about by changing customer requirements
- Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
