Role Purpose:
The Post-Sales Order Processor plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate handling of customer orders. This position requires a detail-oriented and highly organised individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism in all interactions with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Location:
Office-based role, Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30. Offices based in Yorkshire.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports directly to: Service Engineering Manager / General Manager
- Indirect reporting: Senior Management Team
Key Responsibilities:
Inside Sales:
- Support the sales team by managing inbound enquiries, quotations, and order processing.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers through regular communication and follow-up.
- Identify sales opportunities and support pipeline development.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and services.
- Maintain accurate records within CRM systems and support sales reporting activities.
Order Processing:
- Review incoming purchase orders against quotations; ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies with the customer or sales team as needed.
- Record orders accurately in the purchase order registry.
- Check stock availability to determine delivery lead times.
- Coordinate with purchasing to order out-of-stock items from the factory or approved suppliers.
- Enter orders into the internal business system and generate order confirmations.
- Obtain necessary internal approvals before sending confirmations to customers.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with customers regarding order status, lead times, and any queries.
Additional Notes:
- Order complexity varies depending on the number and type of items.
- Service-related orders may require additional steps, including tagging to specific service items and creating new item records when necessary.

Knowledge & Experience:
- Previous experience in customer service, order processing, or administrative support.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experience using CRM or ERP systems.
- Understanding of customer service principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with order processing workflows and documentation.
Education:
- Good general standard of education, including GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).. BSc in Life Science discipline advantageous.
