Overview
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to provide technical support, installation, and maintenance services across the M4 Corridor and Home Counties region. The role is ideal for an engineer with 2–3 years of experience in the healthcare, diagnostics, or life sciences sector, looking to develop their expertise within a dynamic and growing organisation.
This field-based position offers a mix of hands-on technical work, customer interaction, and problem-solving, supporting laboratories and healthcare facilities to ensure reliable instrument performance and exceptional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service a range of diagnostic and laboratory instrumentation.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and repair support to customers on-site and remotely.
- Carry out preventative maintenance, calibration, and performance verification according to company and regulatory standards.
- Deliver professional, customer-focused service and maintain strong client relationships across the region.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation using internal systems.
- Collaborate with technical support, product management, and customer service teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Support product upgrades, training, and field evaluations as required.
- Manage workload and travel efficiently to meet service targets and response times.
The Person
- 2–3 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a technical support role within the healthcare, laboratory, or life sciences industry.
- Strong understanding of electromechanical systems and laboratory instrumentation.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach.
- Customer-oriented mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to manage regional travel and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard reporting tools.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and is based within the M4 Corridor or Home Counties.
Qualifications
- HNC/HND or Degree (or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Additional Information
This is a field-based role requiring regular travel across the M4 Corridor and surrounding Home Counties. Occasional travel to company sites or customer locations outside the area may be required for training or meetings.
