The primary responsibilities include serving as the main technical resource for TEX products, offering both remote and onsite customer support throughout the UK; providing installation assistance, maintenance, calibration, and repair services for TEX products and other items from the Characterization portfolio as needed; developing technical expertise in TEX products and sharing that knowledge with fellow team members; and ensuring that all service delivery complies with established service standards while meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) and customer satisfaction goals. This position is well-suited for an experienced engineer who has worked with advanced technologies in customer-facing roles and can demonstrate a track record of delivering optimal solutions.
Reporting to: Team Leader
Ideal Location: Central Midlands (Birmingham, Derby, Nottingham, Leicester) to allow easy access in all directions. This job will be covering the entire UK.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting preventative maintenance and calibration activities in both production and laboratory environments across the UK.
- Delivering prompt repair services for instruments and systems at customer locations throughout the UK or, if necessary, in the workshop.
- Providing remote support via telephone, email, or online channels while coordinating with the factory for additional assistance as needed.
- Assisting with installations as directed by the Sales Department and coordinating with manufacturing sites to ensure timely and effective completion.
- Managing all external communications and activities through the CRM system. Completing all necessary documentation during maintenance, repair, and installation tasks to comply with Service Department standards.
- Participating in local or factory-based technical/product training courses as required by business needs and utilizing technical literature, schematics, and manuals to gain full proficiency with the assigned devices within the product range.
Requirements:
- ONC/HNC in Electronics & Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Relevant experience in the service industry, including field maintenance, repairs, and installations of complex analytical instrumentation.
- Familiarity with low voltage DC, 230V single-phase, and 400V three-phase systems.
- Experience with inverters, motors, and high-temperature and pressure systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to interpret scientific/analytical data and respond appropriately to resolve customer inquiries.
- Excellent electromechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency with standard electronic testing equipment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with technical reporting abilities.
- Effective organizational and planning skills.
- IT literate, preferably with experience in CRM systems and a solid understanding of MS Office applications.
