Overview

An expanding laboratory solutions provider seeks a dynamic BDM to drive sales across the entire UK. Renowned for range of laboratory consumables, plastics, blood collection tubes and containers, this role is pivotal in advancing the company’s market presence and growth. Reporting directly to the UK Sales Manager, the successful candidate will develop and execute a strategic sales plan, prioritise business development, and cultivate lasting client relationships to consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Nationwide Sales Growth: Increase sales across the UK by identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities.
  • Develop a Strong Sales Pipeline: Proactively research and target key market segments, building a robust and sustainable pipeline of potential clients.
  • Achieve and Exceed Revenue Targets: Meet ambitious sales targets through effective territory management, strategic client engagement, and tailored solutions.
  • Expand New Business: Focus on acquiring new clients while nurturing relationships with existing accounts to maximise cross-selling opportunities.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay informed about market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to position the company as a preferred partner.
  • CRM Utilisation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and progress in CRM systems to inform strategy and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work with marketing and technical teams to design impactful campaigns, address customer pain points, and refine product offerings.
  • Event Representation: Attend trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to network, generate leads, and enhance brand visibility.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage and report on regional sales budgets to ensure cost-effective operations.

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with a strong emphasis on new business development.
  • Minimum of one year’s sales experience, preferably within the diagnostics or life sciences industry.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt and thrive in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in CRM tools to manage and analyse sales performance effectively.
  • Self-motivated, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and driving results.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK as required.
