Area Sales Manager - Yorkshire - North UK

Job Description

The Role

Establishing markets, turnover and competition growth/opportunities, to reply to these and to collect information.  Manage and develop a designed sales area and maximise Sales Targets profitably. Providing a professional service to the customer, to promote repeat business and long term business networks. Organizing and implementing promotional activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preparation of yearly planning/budgets, monthly forecasts and monthly action planners in consultation with the Sales Manager UK
  • Acting independently in sales of services and products as well as providing after-sales and service of the Company within the area or – accounts; Acting as an expert in selling the products
  • Preparing a travel planning independently, with approval from the Sales Manager UK
  • Visiting prospects and customers
  • Responsible for organizing and implementing promotional activities
  • Performing,  co-initiating and executing marketing activities in cooperation with the Marketing Manager
  • Maintaining networks with end users (seminars,  etc.), visiting exhibitions
  • Giving presentations, assisting with technical training, or providing this independently
  • Providing monthly reports to the Sales Manager UK
  • Entering customer details and information, travel reports and particulars in the customer relationship management system
  • Attend sales meetings to discuss market penetration, product development and strategic positioning of the company and its products in the market
  • Follow courses, trainings etc...about the Company’s Biomedical products and competition
  • Advertisements, mailings and attendance at exhibitions, seminars, road shows and conferences

Skills & Qualifications

  • The candidate must minimum degree level education (e.g. Higher Laboratory Education, Biotechnology, Life Sciences)
  • Experience in a sales position in the field of the employer is key, previous sales is a must
  • Technical understanding is a bonus
  • IT skills including Microsoft Office, maintaining CRM database, record keeping and planning skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate easily on various levels
  • Ability to work independently, sets the right priorities
  • Passionate, sales driven, result focused and capable in grow strong networks

  • Ability to work together in a constructive way with colleagues and customers
