Technical Sales Representative - London & SE

Job Description

Reporting To: UK Sales and Service Director

Location: Easily accessible to London & SE

Working Hours: Full-time @ 37.5 hours per week (initial 1 year contract with the view to make permanent)

Salary: Negotiable + Bonus + Company Car

The Role:

Be accountable for your actions, and manage your territory to increase sales in correspondence with the budget. Ideally this position will act as a caretaker for the midlands territory during maternity leave as well as London & SE. The standard objective is to increase sales in current accounts and be on the lookout for potential accounts. You will be selling a wide range of laboratory equipment, consumables, PPE and reagents.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accomplishment of yearly territory sales and gross margin goals
  • Advertise the company’s products and services to customers within Industrial, Higher Education, Pharma and distributor accounts
  • Work with the customer and the chosen suppliers making sure that we completely know their needs and that the right product is sold
  • Develop sales in high possible accounts using the focused projects discussed with the sales team
  • Work with the pipeline support and customer support teams to provide your customers with excellent customer service
  • Supply feedback on competitor activity
  • Establish and Attend opportunities for the small local trade shows at your customer sites
  • Provide displays of equipment/ tasks encourage customers to see our demo lab
  • Sell extended warranty options with all main equipment
  • Work with technical specialists and marketing to establish and target customers
  • Upkeep the customer record database to the right standard at all times
  • Visit and partake in the quarterly sales meeting
  • Utilise the key business tools to help you drive performance SAP, Excel, i-Present and Core Suite

The Person:

  • Must live within territory boundaries
  • Must have a degree or related qualification in a science subject (Preferably Chemistry)
  • Must have 3-5 year’s previous or existing sales experience ideally within industry, environmental and or lab experience

  • Ability to deliver an overall value proposition to meet customer requirements which includes all similar components of the company’s abilities

  • Knowledge of the key business levers to push profitable sales
  • Great computer skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint a must

  • Laboratory experience across a whole range of areas including pharmaceutical, industrial and academic sectors would be ideal, specifically where there is a good knowledge of the existing marketplace for laboratory equipment, consumable and/or chemicals
