Job Description

The Role

The Site Leader, working alongside with the Laboratory Managers and Operations Manager making sure of productive functioning of the laboratory and operations on site.   The laboratory will run day/night and although this role will be a Monday – Friday day shift, availability is necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Personally accountable for general management of the testing operation; security, supply management and safety of all staff on site
  • Control all tasks and outputs of the Testing Centre, making sure of the safety of all staff
  • Work alongside with other Site Leaders to develop a habit of constant improvement, learning and sharing experiences
  • To be logical and find solutions to complicated issues
  • Read and explain instruction and documentation issued
  • Execute instructions given in a written, oral or diagram form
  • Maintaining records and ensuring safety regulations and procedures are complied with
  • Managerial proceedings, training and inspiring members of the team making sure that you give support
  • Timely organisation and submission of all reports and returns, as needed


  • BSc degree (minimum) in Biology or a similar scientific subject (Clinical)
  • Proven management/leadership experience
  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience
  • Experience of running a testing laboratory or related Life Sciences laboratory
  • QA and QC applications in clinical diagnostics with good understanding of ISO 15189/CAP accreditation.
  • Excellent social skills and an encouraging nature
  • Pliability to change duties as and when needed
  • Ability to physically stand for several hours with good strength
  • Eager/willing to work in an outdoor environment
  • Strong IT Skills with advanced levels of experience using the following: Excel, Word, PowerPoint to create business reports and presentations
