Job Description

The Scientific Liaison Manager will be involved in developing relationships with customers throughout the world, providing the client’s commercial teams with vital future market needs information. Also engaging with customers to set up and support scientific studies of commercial expansion and support customers to analyse data, produce abstracts and manuscripts. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage customer relationships to support commercial strategy
  • Provide internal and external platform and solution education in alignment with commercial strategy, including organisation of global customer presentations and delivery of scientific training sessions for BD, Sales, Marketing and broader scientific teams
  • Presentation to internal, national and internal audiences and at meetings
  • Execute an evolutionary plan for internal work to support KOL evaluations and projects
  • Identifies and tracks potential research opportunities that are closely aligned with our client’s development objectives through facilitating research projects
  • Represent Scientific and Technical teams at events when required
  • Development and delivery of scientific material including slides, flyers, white papers, brochures
  • Support customer studies that add knowledge for commercial expansion and support competitor defence
  • Production of standard company presentations to align scientific and commercial message 
  • Respond to internal and external requests for scientific information
  • Have an understanding of our client’s performance, including in vitro and in vivo performance 
  • Production of accurate technology risk landscapes, ensuring current therapeutic, diagnostic and bioprocessing use of our client’s technology is updated on a regular basis
  • Provide Scientific support globally and to internal depts. Monitor the scientific literature for new developments. Distillation of abstracts, peer reviewed papers relevant to the client
  • Update scientific web page content 

 Required Skills and Expertise

  • PhD in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within relevant field
  • Established relationships with KOLs and ability to develop network
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information which may be in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several complex elements. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Previous experience working with Scientific teams
  • Can do/will do attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills and highly organised yet flexible
  • Ability to organise workload and work well on own initiative as well as part of a small team
  • As well as demonstrating creative flair, the job holder must have a keen eye for detail as you will strive for accuracy and precision in all your work.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines without compromising the quality of work
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in written form
  • Ability to attend relevant face to face exhibitions (when they are permitted) as well as online exhibitions and webinars
  • A high standard of IT literacy (MS – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics and Outlook/Wordpress in particular
