Sales Specialist - Oxford

Job Description

The Role

This is a target-based sales position within an allocated territory involving end user and sales channel tasks to advertise and sell Company products and services in account to the go to market strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Sales targets

Making sure that the sales volume, revenue and product meet the agreed business plan

  • Ensure timely delivery of reporting and forecasting
  • Monitor sales activity and come up with corrective action plans

Territory Analysis

  • Make acceptable prospecting calls each week making sure that the pipeline is of ample value to meet the monthly sales goals
  • Support the Channel sales force with the execution of advertising material, recognition of training gaps and basic product understanding
  • Making sure that the right focus given to Key Accounts, Focus Accounts and Corporate Accounts across your given location
  • Create leads and opportunities for cross-divisional associate, and partake in geographical working teams with regular meetings to assessment and share customer and market information
  • Arrange accounts according to market type and development possibility
  • To visit Sales Meetings and when needed, arrange and visit local trade shows
  • Records and Reporting
  • Keep all customer records correct and up to date using the Company CRM regularly, including brief reports of all visits
  • Maintain Key Account plans to increase business at major accounts
  • Provide reports as needed
  • Product and Company understanding
  • Ensure sufficient understanding of whole product range and services
  • Maintain up to date understanding of the Company and its formation
  • Market Understanding
    • Establish all decision makers and influencers at the customer account, major future growth, projects and tenders in the territory
    • Up-Keep thorough understanding of the competitive landscape to authorise successful execution of the business strategy
  • Cost Management
  • Keep selling costs to a minimum, always within company recommendations


  • Must live on location or be able to relocate
  • Valid driving licence, travel will be 80% on territory
  • Scientific degree in either Microbiology or Chemistry with full understanding of lab products
  • Great communication and presentation ability
  • Appropriate Sales experience in an alike market environment
  • Excellent business awareness and a demonstrated ability to grow and maintain professional and personal networks with key Channel partners and customers confidently affecting business development
