Sales Specialist – NGS – UK/Ireland/Nordics region

Job Description

The Position:

Working alongside Sales teams across your allocated area, as our NGS Sales Specialist, you will ensure achievement of sub-regional sales objectives in line with the Company's mission, to enable sales development through strategic tasks, to be a technical & scientific resource for the Company’s product lines, and to give regular reports on status of specific sales, the market and competitor tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the sub-region according to local requirements (either focusing on one country in the sub-region and arranging/tutoring for the other countries, or focusing equally across the districts)
  • Brings together R&D, Marketing and FAS understanding to a advising sales role. Interfaces with corporate product teams and field marketing to bring key technical product understanding to the sector
  • Understands and up-keeps with competitive knowledge and the Company’s product lines
  • Reads, understands, and liaises key findings from current scientific publications as well as essential product understanding to customers and the sales team
  • Presents technical seminars on Company’s applications i) to customers and ii) to sales to ensures to do the same to customers
  • Aids with workshops, conferences, seminar series and other customer-facing tasks as needed
  • Spends at least 40% of their time in the field (or virtually in case of travel restrictions) growing customer networks
  • In line with the field sales team, closes high quality sales expectations in the focus country to meet sales goals
  • Supports the wider team in growing and delivering content to customers; develops the plan at sub-region level
  • Works with and coaches local Territory Account Managers, FAS, Technical Sales Specialists and District Sales Managers to help them accomplish (sales) objectives. In line with the sales team and has a dotted reporting line into the sub-region lead

The Person:

  • Well-developed professional and strategic Sales skills, or demonstrable Field Applications experience, with proven ability to grow key accounts through relationships at various levels on the customer grouping
  • Ability to grow and up-keep to current understanding of genomics and have strong discussions with KOLs and other stakeholders
  • Strong technical presentation skills. Able to engage at account, district or region level
  • Able to take global approach, limit them and change to specific customers or audiences
  • Basic understanding of NGS data analysis methods
  • Highly self-motivated, independent, and successful person who enjoys a demanding and dynamic work environment
  • Strong urge to win business and start long term customer networks
  • Team player with excellent networking skills
  • Great time management and organizational skills
