Sales Specialist - East Midlands

Job Description

  • This role is highly technical and consultative. The Company’s instruments are highly flexible and therefore a sales specialist is required to develop knowhow in applications, user software, performing customer displays, presentations and training.
  • Manage sales of the Company’s instruments in individual territory to accomplish or exceed sales goals.
  • Execute strategies and sales plans to accomplish regional business and financial growth objectives (definition of strategy will be discussed with Commercial Manager).
  • Develop the business in a sustainable and ethical manner. Active prospecting for new business opportunities.
  • Maintain networks with current customers to ensure customer satisfaction. Your aim is to be in the field at least 3/4 days every week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Individual sales territory accountability for Order Entry and sales
  • Performing technical consultancy to fully acknowledge customer requirements and detection objectives
  • Demonstrating technical solutions by configuring systems, presenting solutions, referrals or demos
  • Managing customer expectations and in some cases challenging whether they are realistic and/or practical
  • Generation of customer required documentation including correctly formatted quotations
  • Submitting tenders and RFQs
  • Managing the installation process after receipt of sales order including initial customer training
  • Help development and execute yearly Benelux marketing strategy in collaboration with the rest of the team
  • Devises and formulates regional detection growth plan in line with the overall company objectives
  • Submission of 3 month forecast every week (OE and Sales). Weekly update of CRM
  • Relations with key opinion leaders and partners to drive the business
  • Raise awareness of the Company by performing education technical conference (lunch and learn seminars)
  • Provide regional market intelligence
  • Escalation of difficult sales situations and customer dissatisfaction

Skills

  • Excellent commercial skills and track record in sales
  • Life Sciences domain understanding
  • Has experience with The Challenger sales method
  • Ability to identify and solve possible problem areas displaying business safety and integrity
  • Solve business issues by managing costs and risks
  • Ability to liaise and understand the requirements of the internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Eager to travel

Requirements

  • Science Degree or equivalent
  • Laboratory experience of Plate readers PhD in Life Science
  • 3 years Life Science sales experience
  • 3 years plate reader sales experience
  • 3 years Field application experience
  • Language skills – English, German
  • Familiar with Microsoft office
  • Selling in a consultative environment
