Sales Specialist (Chemicals)

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop business networks by communicating with customers, decision makers including technical end users, stores managers and procurement professionals.
  • To accomplish and exceed all sales and margin related goals for the territory.
  • To act towards the accomplishment of the companies set profitability targets; DCBO, EBITDA, TOE etc.
  • To promote the Company’s product, service and solution portfolio across all market segments by adopting the Company’s Solution Selling strategy.
  • Provide technical support to Account Managers, TAM, regional distributors, segment leaders and sales leaders.
  • To develop and upkeep a high level of technical product understanding and to grow and improve technical understanding throughout tenure as Chemicals Specialist.
  • Learn to confidently perform product training, display and meetings to the customer base in addition to designing and delivering internal product training programs for Account Managers, which will allow them to sell and advertise the basic Chemicals offerings within their territories.
  • Show efficient planning and organisation for assigned KPIs, follow up quotations, agree the next steps and update CRM system.
  • Work with Management to create a detailed territory plan to making sure of all sales and margin goals are accomplished and exceeded. The plan should include account prospecting as well as detailed SWOT analysis.
  • Efficiently interrogate and interpret historical and current sales data to assess performance of the territory and use the data to effectively push sales and margin development.
  • Grow and maintain a rounded understanding of the sales positioning of the Company and the products, services and solution offerings within the various market sectors.Using this understanding, efficiently leverage the strengths and breadth of the Company organisation within routine dealings with customers, suppliers and other stalk holders to push sales and margin growth at the same time as gaining a competitive advantage against market competitors.
  • Display a team network with fellow sales team members (including but not limited) to the Account Management and Chemical and Chromatography specialist team who visit the same customers by maintaining regular weekly communication to ensure clarity for the customer and minimum duplication of activity. Ensure regular training and mentoring of Account Managers takes place, either on collaborative field visits or by hosting product focused regional meetings.
  • To be able to display and action customer training and show a range of Chemicals related products to both the customer base and internally within the Company.
  • Advise and support in the preparation of quotations and tenders for the Chemicals portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Degree level achievement in a Scientific (Chemistry) or Technical sector – ideal but not essential
  • Full clean UK driving license
  • Proven track record of Sales within the scientific / technical industry or similar
  • Experience of working in a high paced and sales/goals driven environment
  • Experience of utilising and manipulating data in Excel
  • Experience of utilising and designing presentation slide decks within PowerPoint or equivalent
  • Experience of utilising and maintaining a CRM system or similar
