Job Description

The Role

A vacancy has arisen in the UK sales team for a Product Specialist to cover the Oxford and Berkshire area. The successful candidate would ideally be based close-to, or in, Oxford.

Main duties

1.  Be responsible and accountable for generating sales of the Company’s products and services versus an annual target for the territory.

2. Build and maintain business relationships with existing and potential customers across a range of organisations, including academia, biotechnology and pharmaceutical.

3. Support lead generation by actively prospecting with existing and new customers and contacts; follow-up and qualify promptly new leads and potential opportunities.

4. Keep updated Microsoft Dynamics CRM for both customer records and in the active management of sales leads and opportunities for the purposes of forecasting instrument unit sales and accompanying revenue.

5. Maintain detailed knowledge of the Company’s products and services, including pricing and positioning versus competitors.

6. Working with colleagues, organise, and support - where needed - customer demonstrations of the Company’s products.

7. Support when required product installations and customer training.

8. Represent the Company at scientific conferences, trade shows and exhibitions.

8. Serve as the first point of contact for customers both pre-sales and post-sales.

10. Prepare presentations of territory opportunities when required for team meetings.

11. Actively feedback market information, competitor activity, and commercial opportunities, including potential sales strategies and promotions to the Head of Sales and Marketing.

 

Experience and education

1.  Educated to degree level in a life science (desirable) or related subject

 2.  Account management and sales experience (essential)

 3.  Experience with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, (essential), and Sharepoint and Teams (desirable)

 4.  Experience of CRM databases (desirable)

 5.  Full UK driving license (essential) (clean: desirable)
