Key Account Manager – North UK

Job Description

We are currently looking a Key Account Manager to join our team in the UK for the Sales Territories covering North UK.

Your role as a Key Account Manager is to establish needs and the potential of your customers and prospects within your territory, sell our reagents and services to your customers and prospects, and liaise with other sectors; specifically, customer commitment, buying and logistics. You will be working from home with visits to the office when required.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Key Account Manager role will be in communication with a great variety of researchers, scientists and managers of all scientific backgrounds and types of businesses, by regularly visiting and holding meetings with them. You will be the chosen speaker for your clients and will communicate for them with the various sectors within the company.

It is very key that you will have a advisory approach to your customers, as our sales methods is customer focused. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable within the life science market. Some of the duties of the KAM will include:

  • using the CRM to make sure that the traceability of the transformation of leads into opportunities and sales.
  • ·observing and qualifying current and new accounts within the territory.
  • timely converting the leads into one or more opportunities.
  • contacting the prospects to transform the opportunities into orders.
  • acquiring and further growing the understanding required to reach the set goals by making use of internal training tools and by self-qualification.
  • ·visiting conferences and salespersons days to meet current customers and create leads.
  • submitting a monthly activity planning for the coming period to SM.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of the sales method and a genuine interest in people. An advisory approach to sales. A minimum of 2 years of experience within the sector is a bonus.
  • MSc degree in a suitable scientific subject 
  • Living within your allocated territory. A little knowledge of the customer base within this territory is ideal.
  • Well-developed social skills with the ability to plan and work independently.
  • The ability to take on a wide range of information.
  • The ability to understand qualify customers and prospects. Negotiation and closing skills are key.
  • The ability to investigate risks in a given strategy, and to be able to handle complex situations.
  • Readiness to travel and stay overnight to ensure of effective time and territory management
  • Fluency in English
  • Driving license
