Job Description

The person will be accountable for directing all product support and customer training in Europe, managing a team of FAS supporting the sales team in the Company’s products In addition to management of the team, the manager would be expected to also provide direct customer support as necessary.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Reporting to the VP of Sales and Support, Europe, the person of this position will be required to:

  • Develop and maintain fundamentally high levels of customer support throughout European, Middle and Far Eastern markets
  • Provide efficient training, guiding and management to a team of 3 Field Application Scientists
  • Train on the Company’s products at customer sites including laboratory work and software installation and training
  • Train on the Company’s Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) products
  • Train on the Company’s range of FISH products
  • Provide ongoing technical support for current customers
  • Acknowledge customer needs and application of products for cytogenetic/molecular genetic and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)
  • Take control of Early Access placements of new products
  • Communicate information to Marketing and R&D teams that help grow future products
  • Travel sufficiently throughout EMEA to visit customers and visit suitable exhibitions
  • Work with the Marketing and Commercial  teams to ensure the highest levels of  customer service to current services accounts

This is a key role within the European commercial team as it requires a great deal of customer engagement, scientific knowledge and understanding with the needs of the clients.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Field Application Specialist
  • Experience of successfully growing and managing a team
  • Experience in a wide range of cytogenetic/molecular genetic techniques post first degree

and/or

  • Working experience in a cytogenetic laboratory setting. (Constitutional/ Cancer/ NGS)
