Job Description

Key Tasks

  • Accomplishment of Chemicals & Reagent portfolio sales / margin goals.
  • Maximise awareness of Chemicals & Reagents portfolio with customers and Company associates.
  • Organise and develop business relationships with Chemicals & Reagents European and local suppliers, obtain support for business development through joint marketing tasks and price support.
  • Making sure that local operation of the Company’s European Chemicals & Reagents marketing approach, also taking in mind the local business needs.
  • Making sure that the UK field Account Manager, Product Specialists, and inside team have regular product training so they supply excellent service to our customers
  • Increase Chemicals & Reagents product opportunities. Promote execution through the suitable RSM, field and internal Account Managers, and Product Specialists.
  • Create, manage and establish market suitability and successful promotional duties and events.
  • Give relevant local pricing and proofread UK and European promotions and e-newsletters.
  • Making sure that correct stock levels, and ensure correct delivery conditions are seen to for Chemicals & Reagents products in combination with local Procurement and European Central Planning teams.
  • Check and ensure precision of product data in SAP.
  • Maintain new suppliers or articles onto SAP when needed.
  • Communicate with the Company’s Regulatory, Change Notification and Custom Manufacturing teams as needed.
  • Making sure that product entries on the web or hosted data sites are correct and accessible.
  • Work as a team with suitable colleagues to win new Chemicals & Reagents tender business and maintain current business.
  • Give technical advice; product cross-reference support; sample request support; demo requests; organising demo/exhibition stock
  • Calculate product gaps, and potential new suppliers and services to add to portfolio locally and within wider European scope, including Company Collection products.
  • Handling regular business inspections with Management teams to push the Chemicals & Reagents business in each area or business sector.
  • Organise and present at local events such as Supplier Exhibition Days or internal training days
  • Field support for Product Specialists and AM’s straight and through the Product Specialists, to supply regular sales and product training, and to support technical customer visits.
  • Give market intelligence from the UK and response on European marketing campaigns
  • Supply sales reports and business plans as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of UK market, preferably with broad experience across Laboratory Chemicals & Reagents. Across the Pharmaceutical, Biotech sectors.
  • Considerable sales and marketing experience, ideally within the Chemicals & Reagents product range, to ensure increase of sales opportunities and development.
  • Earnestly pushes self and others to accomplish expectations of both internal and external customers.
  • Skilled on how to separate and relate duties into effective workflows, that allows for measured outcomes and increase of resources
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce correct and timely reports and analysis of sales and margin data.
  • Able to grow strong relations with internal and external customers, and strong mentoring skills.
  • Good IT skills (MS Office Suite, CRM, QlikView, SAP)
  • Entrepreneurship, determination and flexible to changing requirements of the Company and the product market.
  • Arrangement and delivery of presentations to a high standard for suppliers, internal and external customers.
  • Commercial knowledge of market, competition, pricing and discount form.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise several projects and business critical duties to meet necessary timelines.
