The Role:
You will create the long-term goal and strategy for the development of your portfolio using data analysis, market research and by working with and supporting the key internal stakeholders (marketing, sales, customer service/finance) to grow and execute these techniques. You will be accountable for the Molecular Biology portfolio.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Have strong knowledge of your portfolio
- Establish opportunities (accounts, products, ranges, suppliers, tenders) from your current portfolio using data analysis, market research and by working with key internal stakeholders (marketing, sales, customer service/finance)
- Evaluate market competition compared to established opportunities
- Know, recognize target markets and position key product/ranges/suppliers
- Complete and bid for recognized tenders
- Create annual sales reports and short and long-term goals and strategies
- Guide key internal stakeholders the discovery and implementation of methods to meet your objectives and accomplish your strategies
- Create and up-keep positive, proactive and profitable relationships with your suppliers
- Promote the Company as a strong channel to aid in your suppliers goals
- Liaise clearly and often, meeting the requirements of each individual supplier
- Set clear calculations for reporting and deliver on these predictions
- Motivate engagement by your suppliers and aid their marketing/sales goals
- identify and investigate customer reviews and liaise this to your suppliers
- Establish new, emerging and fast developing markets
- Investigate into these markets and assess suitability for the Company
- Establish gaps in your current portfolio
- Establish new suppliers/products to meet show market requirements and fill gaps in your current portfolio
- Assess established suppliers and determine suitability for the Company
- Research and recognise the wants and requirements of a new possible supplier and match the Company’s strengths to their requirements
- Make proposals that advertise the Company as a strong distribution partner
- Form positive networks with possible new suppliers
- Motivate and encourage internal and external stakeholders about your portfolio, making strong, positive networks
- Meet often with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales and customer service/finance, to aid and follow up agreed methods
- Assist in the growth of strong network building between key target customers and the sales team
- Give internal (sales/marketing) sales and technical training as needed
The Person:
- PhD or substantial experience and understanding of applicable molecular biology methods
- Substantial understanding of the life science market progressed from a marketing/PM background
- A great knowledge of distribution channels and collaboration techniques in this industry
- A desire for new life science technologies and the ability to establish which of these valid in the future
- Be results focused with the urge to set and meet agreed objectives
- The ability to highlight and organise various projects at the same time whilst meeting agreed timelines
- A strong work manner and a positive, can-do demeanor
- Strong networking skills including well-developed listening, written and verbal communication skills
- Willing and able to travel often within the UK and occasionally internationally
- Full driving license
- Fluency in written and spoken English
