Area Manager - West Midlands & SE England

Job Description

You will be an experienced sales professional, with the understanding of the territory and the market.  Also, you will be a recent graduate in a scientific subject and eager to start a career in sales. Your role will be to handle current accounts and to bring new business across a variety of industries, mainly based in the Midlands area, Cardiff, Bristol, Bath, Swindon and Gloucestershire areas. You may be needed to temporarily handle accounts in the North of England.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Visiting current and new customers following up sales leads and doing individual customer research in various industries (agriculture, automotive, chemical/ petrochemical, health/ clinical, cosmetics, environmental, FCMG)
  • Arranging meetings with decision-makers, performing product demonstrations and creating quotations where necessary
  • Communicating with internal sales and technical support teams
  • Working alongside with other sales and account managers in the UK and globally

The Person:

  • Ideally strong experience in a field based role selling laboratory equipment
  • Degree in a scientific subject with some sales experience
  • Educated to a degree level (science degrees only)
  • You will be highly motivated, pushed by results, determined and with a positive mind set
  • Capable of working individually and as a part of a team
  • Good communication skills, with ability to influence and advise others
  • Ambitious and eager to progress
