Job Description

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for establishing potential buyers of the company’s products and services within a specified geographical location. This task will require a high level of business development.
  • Seeking out for new accounts within the specified territory as well as servicing of current accounts.
  • Execute professional sales calls to maximise sales development and territory penetration
  • To negotiate contracts and complete orders with end users and purchasing departments and support all procurement methods.
  • Manage and from time to time enter correct and complete customer data and sales project information into the company CRM system
  • Provide correct timely sales forecasts to sales manager via weekly forecast calls and company CRM system.
  • Be able to clearly establish and define the customer’s requests, shape and align their requirements to the Company’s capabilities and apply the Company’s solutions to the customer’s needs and efficiently communicate these to customers.
  • Coordinate activities with other sectors within the Company to increase exposure at accounts, for example:

- Organizing the Company’s Conferences and Workshops.

- Promoting Account Technology Events

- Exchanging account Information and Sales Leads with other colleagues within the Company

  • Be receptive to customers’ requests, as well as to conditions and trends that affect them and work individually to maintain customer relationships.
  • Visit and support through technical and business presentations, when necessary, exhibitions, user meetings, customer conferences and other customer events.
  • Deliver as a product specialist in the sales process and provide efficient on-customer-site product displays of all given products
  • Plan and execute to customers order wining display of our instrumentation
  • Commercially aware and receptive to the conditions that affect the business. These conditions include understanding of competition – their products, pricing, procedures and personnel; of customers - their management and procedures; of the industries depicted by customers.
  • When necessary, aid in the annual planning of the future financial performance of the Company by giving insight into the prospects for development in the specified territory.
  • Work together and efficiently with your close colleagues in the Company’s Sales and Service sectors as well as with other colleagues within the Company to ensure at all times a high level of customer satisfaction with our products and services.
  • Use divisional resources in the performance of all accountabilities.
  • Constantly achieve/ exceed order bookings objectives on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Minimum Degree level qualification in a scientific discipline ideally Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent.
  • Suitable experience in a sales environment, ideally capital analytical equipment sales (LC/MS, GC/MS, HPLC, GC).
  • A demonstrated track record in accomplishing sales quotas and experience in use of time in Territory Management.
  • A working understanding of Chromatography (HPLC and GC) and understanding of Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS and LC/MS) is a bonus.
  • Must also have a broad familiarity with the following industries: Academia, Pharmaceutical, Bio-Pharmaceutical, CRO, Environmental, Food/ Flavours, Clinical, Toxicology, Forensics, and Petrochemical/ Petroleum and knowledge of both small molecule and large molecule applications in Routine and Research.
  • Must be able to establish new target accounts annually and be able to grow and execute territory plans.
  • Must be highly sales driven and have the ability to work independently and be creative in creating diplomatic sales strategies and executing these in a timely manner to deliver results.
  • Great customer focus.
  • Have the ability to work on own eagerness to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • A good level of social, motivational and organisational skills.
  • Must be located within given Territory.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Hold a Valid UK Driving license.
  • Experience of using a CRM, Outlook and MS office suite
  • Great communication and presentation skills.
  • Great time management and ability to multi task.
  • Highly motivated and driven.
  • Can lead a discussion with scientists as well as commercial collaborator.
  • Self-starter and dedicated.
  • Must be a team player with ability to connect across internal and external complicated institutions.
  • Ability to travel within the specified geographical location and to demonstration facilities across Europe. May require overnight stays on occasions up to 20%.
  • High level of IT skills/ computer literacy.
